What is Type I Diabetes?
Type I Diabetes also known as Juvenile Diabetes is a chronic, autoimmune disease in which the pancreas produces little to no insulin. Insulin is a hormone that aids in permitting blood sugar into the cells of the body. Without insulin, the blood sugar builds up in the bloodstream which can lead to harmful effects on the body and causes the symptoms experienced by this disease.
