These are some of the most common and versatile boats on the water and can come with a variety of power packages and features. These boats can either have an open bow with seating or they can have a closed bow with a small cabin. They are usually 18 to 30 feet in length and are designed with creature comforts in mind. Runabouts are great for most water sports and can accommodate basic fishing.
Some manufacturers include: Sea Ray, Cobalt Boats, and Four Winns
Inshore fishing boats are smaller then offshore
fishing boats, and they are popular because of their versatility
on the water. These boats are powered by outboard engines and are
lightweight compared to the runabouts of a similar size. They
usually don't have lots of seating or comfort features, but the
lack of seats makes for an open deck that is perfect for
fishing. Inshore fishing boats are perfect for waters ports
because of their light weight and efficiency.
Offshore fishing boats are different from their
inshore siblings in that they are bigger and usually have more
than one engine to accommodate going hundreds of miles offshore.
These boats are a great alternative to larger runabouts and
because they are designed to go far offshore they are some of the
safest boats on the water. In addition, these boats are
available with comfort features such as extra seating and heads or
showers.
Some manufacturers of fishing boats include: Boston Whaler, Grady White, and Scout Boats
