Rivalries of Chelsea FC
Chelsea have built some intense rivalries over its years. Being from
London, all of the other London clubs are considered rivals to
Chelsea. Other clubs based in London include:
- Arsenal
- Tottenham Hotspur
- Queens Park Rangers (QPR)
- Fulham Fc
- Crystal Palace
- West Ham United.
These London Clubs are literally known as Chelsea's biggest rivals
because they are all from the same city. Some of these clubs,
however, aren't very popular anymore because they have not been
doing well in recent years. For example, QPR used to be Chelsea's
biggest rival. However, they have been in the Championship for the
majority of the last decade. They haven't even been playing in the
same league as Chelsea, so they don't ever play each other anymore
due to the drop-off in QPR's skill.
The Premier League in the past decade has had a solidified "top 6"
teams. This meaning that the same 6 teams every year are always at
the top of the league after the season. Because of this, it has made
competition more intense between these 6 teams. These teams are:
- Chelsea
- Arsenal
- Liverpool
- Tottenham
- Manchester City
- Manchester United
Only Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham are from London, meaning that
Chelsea have built up more of a rivalry with clubs like Manchester
United, Manchester City, and Liverpool. Not all games are able to
broadcasted on TV, because there are just too many games. However,
whenever two of these "top 6" clubs are playing against each other,
it is always broadcasted because of the rivalries that have been
formed.
