were longshots to even be contenders. After getting off to a slow
start the Mets
went on a tear and won 100 games that year. The Mets, led by Hall

Tom Seaver, would make it to their first World Series in 1969. In
the Series
the Mets would face off against the Baltimore Orioles who were heavy
favorites to win. The Mets shocked the world and beat The Orioles in 5
games.
