Photo Album
Assignment: Create a Photo Album about absolutely anything
you like that contains all of the Requirements listed
below.
Learning Goals: You will become more familiar with the
guts of the Word program. You may find these specific features
helpful when using Word in the future, but you will also become
comfortable enough with advanced features to be able to use other
such features even if they are new to you. You will be practicing
using the Word control functions of Table of Contents and Header
and Footer manipulation across separate document sections and
control of your page numbers.
This assignment also ensures that you can do basic picture
editing such as cropping and adding effects using a graphics
editor. I show you how to use GIMP, a free graphics editor, but if
you already use a graphics editor you like, feel free to use that
instead.
How to Start:
- If you prefer to dive right in: Read the
requirements below and look at the sample and then create an
album that includes all the requirements. (If you get stuck on
one part, just look look at the movie for that one part.)
- If you prefer a movie guiding you along: use the step
by step movie instructions: photo
album movie tutorial. These are only available for
Windows Word versions after 2006. You will need to choose the
one column that fits your computer and watch the movies in
order. I recommend putting the movie in one window as you work
along side it in another window. If you need to follow the
video and need a windows computer, use the library computer
lab.
- If you prefer written instructions telling you exactly
what to do: use step by step written instructions: photo album instructions
(If you use both movie and video and they do not match
exactly, don't worry as both versions of the assignment are
acceptable.)
- Note: If you finish and find your page numbers and headers
and footers are wrong, be sure to look at the last row of the
movie tutorials to find instructions on fixing it. photo album movie tutorial
