CPU
The central processing unit
(CPU) is the brain of the computer. Being the brain of the computer, the
CPU's job is to execute commands that you direct. So for gaming
the CPU is not as important as the GPU which will be talked
about in our next section. For our CPU there are mainly two competitors in the
market, AMD and Intel. Both companies in recent years have been
improving on their technology immensely. Each CPU has it's own
shape that fits into the motherboard so you will have to see
which one matches up before you buy your parts. For example my
motherboard has a socket of LGA 1151 which my CPU is compatible
with. AMD processors usually a socket called the AM4 socket so
just keep that in mind.
