Nursing FAQs

Many students have the same questions. Here are some of the most common:

Q: When do I need to worry about or start ATI?
A: ATI begins when you begin you clinicals. You do not need to worry about it until then. The charges for ATI are added to you tution during the semester you start clinicals.

Q: Where do I buy my scrubs from?
A: Scrubs must be bought from Dove Professional Apparel. Go to Dove Apparel to order the scrubs. When you order make sure you use the code "ADEL" to find the school and the correct embroidered scrubs. Once you type in the code it states what is required for a nursing student for scrubs. Make sure to order your scrubs early and give them a few weeks to be shipped. You can also order the scrubs by calling (800) 829 DOVE -(8683) any time Mon-Fri from 9am - 5pm.

Q: Who do I speak to about problems with my classes or professor?
A: If you have a problem with the professor it is best to cofront them first. If you continue to have problems with them you should contact your advisor and the head of the department the professor belogs to. If you are having trouble with a class it is a good idea to talk with your advisor and possibly consult with a tutor at the writing center. By finding a tutuor it ma give you the additional help you need to get the grade you need in a specific course. The Writing Center is located in the basement of Earle Hall.

Q: Where is the nursing office?
A: The nursing office is located on the second floor of Alumnae Hall. Their phone number is (516)877-4510.

Q: Do I need to buy Pepid for clinicals?
A: Yes it is required by the University and more and more professors are checking for them so make sure you have yours. A tip so you do not need to spend a small fortune to get pepid it is offered as a free app for iphones and ipod touches right now.
