The Future of Gilmore Girls:
Netflix Revival

In 2015, there were possible rumors of a possible
Gilmore Girls Season 8 after the cast reunited at
SXSW. Later that year, TV
line reported that
the revival was actually happening, to air on
Netflix. The report was confirmed in early 2016.
So, what do we need to know?
1. This
season will be four 90 minute episodes. Each episode will refer
to one of the four seasons.
2. The entire original cast--minus Edward Herrmann, who passed
away in 2014, will return.
There were doubts that Melissa McCarthy, now a big movie star,
would reprise her role as Sookie,
but she announced that she will be returning.
3. The whole series will air on Netflix, possibly later in 2016
or early 2017.
4. The new season is currently being filmed. The photo gallery
has pictures from the set.
5. Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband--the creators of the
show--will be returning.
The did not work on the 7th season because of a contract
dispute.
6. Rory will apparently be single, but dating and Lorelai will
still be with Luke.
7. Gilmore fans will get what they want: to hear
Sherman-Palladino's famous final four words
she originally planned to use to end the show but never got a
chance to.
