My first day was full of different emotions. I met my roommate for the second time and her family. It was a bit overwhelming because I had no idea what to expect, and so many things where happening so quickly. I was excited though, because finally I was going to school for dance and expanding my career. I didn't know anyone else at this school when I first came, and neither did my roommate, so through that we became close friends. She's a dance major too which made everything so much more helpful to be living with someone that was going through the exact same thing as me. |

One of my favorite memories was during 'Welcome Weekend'. My roommate and I went to Waitress on Broadway together. This was my first Broadway show ever seeing and it was life-changing. I have done musicals all my life and have been following this production on the internet since the beginning, so being able to see this was incredible. I cried straight through it! |

I made some great dance friends. It's really great living on campus, because if I just want to dance and it's an odd hour, it's fine to go into the studios and just dance. Dancing has been something that gets me through a lot stresses, which is often with college. It's also really fun having dance friends because you can all go in and create a dance, take cool pictures, or just improve together. We also went as the Powerpuff Girls for Halloween. It worked well because we are one red-head, one brunette, and one blonde. We made our costumes as well. And instead of going to a party, we drove around and looked at the neat decorations in our neighborhood. We also just ate candy and watched scary movies and painted pumpkins. College is so much easier and feels more worth it when you have great supportive friends with you. |

Being apart of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
Club, I made some great friends, really found myself,
and was able to be apart of really cool projects. I
went on a retreat to Lake Champion for a weekend and
it was so beautiful. It was so nice and refreshing to
be away from downstate, college, and even get a break
from technology. It was so beautiful, and everyone
there was so friendly, and it was a beautiful thing
for all of us to be vulnerable together, and explore
God's word. The Christian community on campus is one
thing that kept me sane through this semester. They
truly supported me and were people that I could go to
and talk to about anything. Unfortunately, my closest
friend in the group transferred after this semester,
but I will never forget how much she helped me get
through my first semester of college.

After my last final, my mom came down to pick me and all of my stuff up to go home for Winter Break. Since my birthday was very close to this, we decided to spend the weekend in the city, just the two of us. This was a great trip because it was a great way to end this semester, and celebrate everything that I had accomplished this semester. It was also really nice to be able to catch up with my mom in person and not over FaceTime. We are very close and our relationship was another thing that helped me through this semester. Knowing that back home I had such a strong, loving support system helped me to keep pushing myself forward. |
