8/1/05 - The first day of class is Tuesday August 30.
8/30/05 - I have posted a list of corrections and typos in the
textbook.
9/1/05 - There will be a quiz on Thursday September 8.
9/6/05 - The quiz has been rescheduled for Tuesday September 13.
9/13/05 - The link to the Chapter 2 slides is finally working.
9/15/05 - The due date for Homework 2 is extended to Wednesday September
21st at 11:59 p.m.
9/23/05 - Quiz #2 will be on Thursday September 29.
9/29/05 - If you did not already receive an email from
me, that means you passed Quiz #2 with a 65 or higher.
9/29/05 - There will be no class on Tuesday October 4th.
10/6/05 - There will be no office hours on Tuesday
October 11th. However, both classes will meet as scheduled.

10/14/05 - The midterm exam will be given in class on
Tuesday October 25th.
10/19/05 - I have extended office hours on Thursday October 20. They will
be 1:00-3:00pm and 5:50-6:30pm.
10/25/05 - For the curious, here is the class distribution

grade for the midterm exam.
10/25/05 - The deadline for HW4 has been extended to Wednesday November
2nd at 11:59 p.m.
10/27/05 - The Chapter 5 slides have been
updated.
10/27/05 - I replaced question 4 of HW4 with a simpler question.
You can do the original (harder) question for extra credit.
10/30/05 - For students who received less than 80 on the
midterm, some extra credit
problems
have been posted.
10/31/05 - For the bullseye extra credit question on hw4, I have posted a
clarification as to how to write the program.
11/1/05 - HW4 has been shortened to 3 questions. It is
due on Wednesday November 2 at 11:59 p.m. The stuff on images has
been moved to HW5.
11/3/05 - Quiz #3 will be on Thursday November 17.
11/9/05 - Correction for HW5
question 1 - the program should return the center covered by a dot
(small circle) with that color.
11/10/05 - For HW5 question 2, you can represent the two colors
using solid rectangles that are both the same size.
11/15/05 - Revisions for HW5 are due on Wednesday November 16 at
11:59pm.
11/15/05 - I will have additional office hours on Wednesday
November 16 from 2:40-4:00pm.
11/22/05 - Quiz #4 will be on Thursday December 8.
12/8/05 - Both classes will meet as scheduled on Tuesday December 13th. We
will have a review, so there will be no new material that day. Attendance
is optional, but recommended for students having difficulty.

12/13/05 - The deadline for HW7 has been extended to
Sunday December 18th at 11:59pm. Also, any homework submitted
after that time, will receive a grade of 0.
12/20/05 - NB 6:20p.m. - All homework assignments (for both sections) have
been graded and emailed back. If there are any questions, please e-mail me.
12/22/05 - NB 7:30p.m. - All course grades have been posted to
