Adelphi Athletes excel on the field
and in the classroom:
Adelphi University prides itself in many areas, including athletics,
where nearly 400 student athletes and 23 intercollegiate teams
continually achieve the highest successes. A proud member of the
Division II community of intercollegiate programs that values the
scholar athlete, the Panthers compete in the prestigious
Northeast-10 Conference. Adelphi's athletes are national champions,
with nine national championships since 2001 and 16 overall. Adelphi
athletes excel not just on the court or field, but also in the
classroom. Every year, numerous Panthers make the NE10 commissioners
Honor Roll, with all 23 teams achieving a 3.0 or better in the past
school year.
William J. Bonomo Field
Dedicated in 2007, William J. Bonomo Field hosts Adelphi's baseball
team. It features field turf with cutouts for the bases, home plate
and pitchers mound, and can be usued in virtually any weather. The
bullpens are located along the foul line, just past the 50-foot
dugouts.
