I am currently the
Undergraduate Principal trumpet player at Adelphi University. I have
been playing trumpet since the 4th grade and I have loved the
instrument ever since. Throughout the years I have become a very
knowledgeable and skilled player.
While I was a senior in high
school I auditioned for The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam,
hoping to be accepted into the Music Education program. While I was
accepted to SUNY Potsdam, unfortunately I did not make it into the
music school. My choices became C.W. Post and Adelphi.
I chose to come to Adelphi
to play trumpet for a few reasons. First and foremost, my trumpet
teacher, Patrick Dougherty, is an adjunct trumpet professor at Adelphi.
Secondly, my mother is an Adelphi alumni. Thirdly, Adelphi is close
enough for me to commute to school and get a great education.
While studying trumpet at
Adelphi I've had the opportunity to perform with many professional
musicians and I've made great friends. I look forward to continuing to
learn from my professors and to grow as a musician. I also can't wait
to get inside the new Performing Arts Center!
Unfortunately, I don't have
many pictures of me playing trumpet from when I was younger, but I do
have some pictures!
