I believe art is one of the most expressive ways to showcase who you are, what you love, and explore all kinds of possibilities. There are many skills and knowledge that can be gained through art and design education. I strongly believe that art educators should teach with the purpose of creating well-rounded artists that will be able to apply what they learn not only to their artwork but also to their personal life. Some of reasons I feel strongly about when it comes to why teach art and design are related to learning about the world and understanding that there are different points of views, which we should all be able to respect. Another reason I want to teach art and design is to be able to introduce and provide students with the knowledge of the evolution of art. In this time and era, art is breaking boundaries and through curriculums such as STEAM, we are able to combine the use of technology with art and design. As I mentioned before I believe art is a form of expression and when one is able to express oneself, we are able let go and put our emotions on paper, canvas or any medium we may be using. To be provided with such a therapeutic outlet allows for individual growth and a better learning environment.
