Power Point Slide Show
Create a Power Point presenting anything you like. It should include
the following:
- At least 6 slides - first slide your name
- a hyperlink to another site (highlight words and then insert /
hyperlink and click web address to the left and then type web address
on bottom)
- a hyperlink to another slide in your presentation (highlight
words and then insert / hyperlink and click place in document and then
click on the other page)
- graphics (any couple pictures)
- meaningful animation of slide and object (slide transition and
object custom animation)
- for slide transition (view / slide sorter and then right
click and choose slide transition and then click on a transition on the
right)
- for object animation (click on an object so you see the box,
and then slide show/ custom animation and press add effect on the right)
- never present a blank slide that requires a click to get the
first object to appear
- don't animate everything on the screen so that you have to
click just to get something to appear on the screen
- group some animated objects together
- when you are looking at the custom animation (slide show /
custom animation) that was already created on a slide, you see the
animations in the box under "add effect". click on the second one (that
has a 2) and change the timing from "on click" to "with previous".
- no sentences
- pages that are not too crowded
- Either color or picture background
- Use at least one table (insert / table)
Every presentation must be submitted into the Powerpoint Submission Discussion
Board in Blackboard.
To improve the presentation:
- Limit the information on each page
- Ensure the animation follows the speech
- If you have a table, have each point appear side by side, instead
of all of one side first.
- Add pictures that help describe what you are talking about. Often
adding a punctuation mark (like a big question mark) or a cartoon are
helpful.
- Look at this link: http://www.usd.edu/trio/tut/present.html
There is no movie of this exercise, but these skills were also in the Power
Point intro assignment:
Please post questions to the help discussion board. The PowerPoint Day has tutorials
available.
