- It is currently estimated that there are less then 5,000 eastern lowland gorillas left in the wild.
- The current threats they are facing include habitat loss, fragmentation, mining, poaching and civil unrest in the national parks.
- There are two separate subspecies of eastern gorilla including the eastern lowland gorilla, and mountain gorilla both which are endangered.

- It is hard to pinpoint an exact number of how many sea turtles are actually left in the wild, but for a species that use to have numbers in the millions, it is predicted that there are less then a million left now.
- The current threats they are facing include poaching, over exploitation, habitat destruction, marine debris digestion/entanglement, and more.
- Six of the seven sea turtle species are classified as threatened or endangered mainly due to human actions and lifestyles.
