FAQ
Here are the answers to some of the most
common questions people have about starting
this new life endeavor.
- Do I need to be fit to go hiking, camping ,etc.?
- Being fit and healthy in general will help you with any
physical activities. In short, being fit will help with
your endurance and ability to perform. However, this is
not to say you need to be an extreme athlete. All of these
activities are about enjoying yourself. Challenge by
choice. Go at your pace and don't do anything you feel
uncomfortable with!
- Do I need to go with a friend?
- Going with a friend is definitely a smart thing to do
for beginners. A friend will provide you with an extra set
of eyes and will also be able to help you out in a snag.
For first timers a partner or multiple partners is highly
recommended.
- Is it expensive?
- No! It really depends on what you want to do. If you are
going for a hike all you really need are some snacks,
water, proper clothes, and transportation - most things we
all already have.
- Isn't the outdoors dangerous?
- The world is a dangerous place everywhere if you are not
careful. Being prepared is the best thing you can do. The
danger level is dependent upon the activity itself and how
well prepared you are. Instructors and park officials are
almost always available to help in any aspect you may feel
shaky on.
