Do you wonder
how can I be
more active? Do you do your chores around the house or park further
away to
walk further? Well many people want to/need to become more active and
this is a
simple and conventional way of becoming more active. A problem in the
modern
society is that throughtout our daily life we do not get enough
physical
activity. This is partially due to the increase in technology that has
been
taking over our jobs. Another reason is because some parents hire maids
to
clean the house and/or landscapers. Chores such as mowing the lawn and
vacuuming believe it or not, burn a lot of calories. So this is a seven
day regimen in
order to become more active just by doing more chores or changing your
daily
life a little.
The MAJOR
QUESTION
is: Are you capable of being committed to a guideline that can make you
healthier and more active? Are you determined enough? Can you make
simple
changes in your life to becom ehealthier? Well we will see and it is
definitley
worth a try. So read these guidelines and start the process.
The
purpose of this week long program is to let you know that you can do
chores and burn a
substantial amount of calories and carbohydrates. You can do all this
while helping out your parents by taking away some of their pesky
chores because
they do enough. If you do a few chores a day, consistantly for a year
you can
burn about 50,000 calories just by doing chores. Forget going to the
gym and
just working out or running on the treadmill; help out with the house
maintenance and you will win by cutting calories, making your parents
happy a comfortable
house to live in. Through this task you will learn what chores burn how
many
calories by researching the information on the internet, how to get the
most out
of each chore, make a chart of how you change your daily life to get
more exercise and participate
in
household chores that keep you physicall active.

1. First you will be assigned to research this topic of burning calories while doing chores and you must obtain some background information on it. Then you must look and find what chores are considered to burn the most calories. You will gather a list of the top ten chores that are said to be the most calorie burning with the numbers of calories next to it. You must also this question: What is the key aspect to getting the most out of each chore and burning the most possible calories per minute?
2.Next, you will have to make little changes of how you go about the day. For example if you usually park close to your destination, park further to walk more. Another example that would help burn calories even more than walking a farther distance is to avoid taking elevators/escalators and walk up/down the stairs. You will have to set your goal and be dedicated because no one will be around you to motivate you. This is only for your own benefit and can help you get in shape or maintain your shape while even improving it. The following chart is what you must fill out in order to keep track.
Day
How many
times you altered what you normally would do to get more exercise
What type of
activity (walking, stairs etc.)
3.
Thirdly, you must do household chores and housekeeping. You must
burn at least 400 calories a day basing the calories for how much time
that you have researched. It can involve any chore you would like but
it cant be the same chores everyday. Some can be repeated like laundry
since that is needed to be done everyday. Fill out the following table
so you can log how many calories you have burned and what activities
you have done each day.

Internet Research |
You do not have much knowledge of the subject
of chores and burning calories. A top ten list was not put together The
question was not answered. |
You have a brief understnading and knowlege
of this subject. The top ten list was started but not finished or was
incorrect. The question was answered but it was answered incorreectlty
and not to the best of your ability. |
You know everything about this topic and you
can tell someone approximately how many calories are burned doing a
specific chore. The top ten list was complete and right on target. The
answer to the question was right on point and some websites were evn
given as references to your research. |
|
Changes in daily life |
You did not fill out the chart and did not
attempt to alter paths and get more exercise |
You tried to change your daly habits of
taking the easy way but only filled out half of the days in the chart. |
You were fully dedicated and changed every
usual path and easy way to make it into a longer or more
vigorous way of getting to your destination. You went beyond the
boundaries and even rode your bike instead of driving or being driven. |
|
Housekeeping and Chores |
You did not fill ou the table and did
very little chores, thus not meeting the required goal. |
You filled out most of the table but you
repeated some chores too many times. You also went a little below the
calorie goal. |
You completely filled out the table and mixed
in a wide variety of chores or activities outside to maintain the
exterior like mowing the lawn, raking and/or watering the plants. |
|
Hopefully after this seven day process you get
into a habit of doing chores and walking up the stairs instead of using
an elevator. AFter following this regimen you should feel better about
yourself because you are losing weight and you are helping out by doing
chores. This is a great way to get exercise without joining a gym or
going out of your way just to exercise. With this you can kills two
birds with stone. I hope this helps you can will influence you to
become more active since it is so beneficial in the long run as well as
the short term.

These
websites also had suggestions and many examples of chores or outside
work that can be done everyday at your own house. The average number of
calories burned and minutes per year doing a chore is provided in the
daily mail website. It is remarkable information and I found it very
information. Once again thankyou.
