Personally, I loved this play. I would see
it again and again if I could. It was beautiful from beginning to end.
I was captivated by it. After watching it, I desired to be on stage
again and perform. I even tried writing my own play (with little
success). The content of the play really got me thinking about the
people of the Congo and what I myself can do to help. A lot of times I
get the belief that because of my age I wouldn't be taken very
seriously but nothing is worse then never trying to do something to
make a difference. I work with young girls and I am a mentor, so it
really saddened me to see how women are treated and violated in such a
way. I never can tolerate hearing such stories and I take it to heart
when anyone is hurting, especially young women. I am just hoping for a
day of liberation and piece from war and violence because I believe
that their are other ways to solve problems. I hurt for the pain of
Africa and all the blood that has been shed on that land. I just pray
that we stop seeing things as just a problem that "those people"
are facing and see it as a problem for all of us as a whole. As far as the play,
I thought the acting, singing, dancing, music, everything, was
wonderful! Everyone did such a great job and the spirit of the actors
was inspiring. I was delighted to be able to meet some of them after
the show and just thank them for a wonderful performance! They all
seemed very passionate about what they were doing and took it very
seriously as they should.
