Our trip
to London was the week before the 2012 Summer
Olympics. Everywhere we looked there
were Olympic Rings. We stayed in the
Westminster Plaza Hotel and it was right
across from Big Ben and Parliament.
It was a gorgeous hotel.
Big Ben was breath-taking.
We spent hours there taking pictures and just
staring at the beauty. The
hotel being located right across from this
monument was a big plus!
Next stop was the London
Eye. It was built in 2000 with plans to
take it down soon after but it has been up ever
since. While you are up in the pod, you
are able to see all of London. It is such
an amazing experience to see everything from
high up.
We had the opportunity to see
the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham
Palace. It only happens certain times
during the day. We were fortunate to be
there and experience it.
The
Olympic rings hung from the London Tower
Bridge. The rings went up when large ships
had to pass. This was my mom's favorite
thing in London.
