Isla del Sol & Lago Titicaca


Isla del Sol translates to "island of the sun." This beautiful island has many Aymara
remains and is rich with history. The island features a small museum that stores
Aymaran artifacts. In addition to the islands breath taking attractions, the island
is located on Lake Titicaca - the worlds highest lake and one of South America's
largest lakes. Since the lake is at an extremely high altitude, it gets difficult to
breathe and most tourists need to take oxygen pills or may need to be assisted
with oxygen tanks.
Madidi Parque Nacional


Madidi is one of many national parks in Bolivia. Madidi is located along the upper
Amazon River basin and is known to be one of the world most diverse ecological jungles.
The park has many attractions such as waterfalls, rare wildlife, indigenous artifacts, and
there are known to be indigenous tribes that live in the rain forest. Some of the
wildlife Madidi features are the exotic pink dolphins that live in a few of the rivers. In
addition to this, you can find pumas, jaguars, and the newly discovered titi monkey.
Salar de Uyuni


The Salt Flats (also known as the Salt Desert) located in Uyuni, Bolivia is the country's
most popular tourist attraction. This is the world's largest salt flat. This salt desert
was formed after a prehistory lake dried up completely and left nothing but remains
of salt. The desert transforms into a breathtaking mirror when a small surface of water
floats on top of the salt flats. The flats create a reflection of the sky creating an effect
like the one pictured above. The salt desert also feature a salt hotel - this hotel is
completely made out of salt and people are able to book rooms and sleep the night.
Laguna Colorada


The Red Lagoon (also known as Bloody Lagoon) borders the Andes Mountains and
is a salt lake located in Potosi, Bolivia. The name Bloody Lagoon stems from old
folktales that say that the water is actually the blood of ancient gods. The lagoon features
super rare flamingos - the James' Flamingos that are only found at really high altitudes.
Along with the James' flamingos, you can find Andean and Chilean flamingos.
