Amphibians

Amphibians are cold-blooded vertebrates that live in water and on land. Most amphibians go through a metamorphosis. Amphibians hatch from eggs and live their early life in the water. As they grow their bodies change and they become capable of sustaining life on land. Scientist predict there are approximately 7,534 species of amphibians. The three orders or groups of amphibians caecilians, frogs and toads, and salamanders and newts.
