History
- Delta Phi Epsilon was
founded on March 17, 1917 at the New York University
School of Law(NYU) by a group of 5 women
- Dorothy Cohen
Schwartzman, Ida Beinstock Landau, Minna Goldsmith Mahler,
Eva Effron Robin, and Sylvia Steierman Cohn. Also known as
the DIMES.
- The DIMES being a
nicknames for these 5 founders
- Since these women were
not accepted by other organizations due to their religious
beliefs they founded Delta Phi Epsilon as a Jewish
sorority but made it so it was open and accepting of
anyone who wished to join.
