Background Off the Field

    Mike Trout was born in 1991 in Vineland, New Jersey. However, he grew up and made his name "The Millville Meteor" in Millville, New Jersey. Trout grew up with two sibling, his sister Teal and brother Tyler. Mike has always had his foot in baseball with father, Jeff Trout, playing professional baseball for four years for the Minnesota Twins. These days, Mike Trout is currently 28 years old and spends his days in California with his wife Jessica Trout. They are currently expecting a daughter on the way and will Mike a first time father.

The Beginning


Trout was drafted staright from high school in the first round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels. However, he was not able to show his talents on the big stage until July 8th 2011, when he made his big league debut for the Angels, playing center field. Ever since that day, Mike Trout as been the most consistent and dominate player in the league. In his first full rookie season (2012), Trout took the game by storm showing off his power and speed with 30 home runs and 49 stolen bases. He was able to earn his first of many All Star selections and was awarded the American League Rookie of the Year and earned himself his first Silver Slugger Award as an  outfielder. This was the start a career that will be one for the record books.



First MVP 2014
    Before 2014, Trout had been the runner up for the American League Most Valuable Player Award each full year of his career, however, his consistent domination allowed him earn his trophy that made for a player of his caliber. Trout played on a completely different level than everyone else this year. He was able to score 115 runs, hit 36 home runs, drive in 111 runs batted in, and maintained a .287 batting average. This performance helped bring the Angels to the postseason for the first time in his career. however, they were defeated by the Kansas City Royals in the first round.



2019 Season 
Just like most of Trout's seasons, domination has been a consistent theme in his work. Trout played played 134 games and was on pace to have an even more historic year than he's ever done before. However, he was sidelined for the rest of the season with foot injury. What's even more amazing, even with a missing month of baseball in Trout's 2019 season, he was still awarded his third MVP trophy for the year. His posted insane numbers like 45 home runs, 110 runs scored, 104 runs batted in, and maintained a batting average of .294. Trout was also awarded his seventh Silver Slugger Award and his eighth All Star appearance.
