• Shih tzu's need to be regularly groomed as they can be matted quick. They need frequent trimming/clipping to keep their coat short.
  

• They may suffer health problems due to their short stature and their short face. Their respiratory system is compromised so it is important to use a Y-shaped harness rather than a color.
  
• They must also remain at a healthy weight because their short legs cannot handle the weight!
