In 2008 the Adelphi Field Hockey made its first apperance as a varsity sport since 1983. This is because there was a growing interest in women's soccer. In 2007 Adelphi started a club team for anyone who interseted in playing the sport. With growing support and interest from players and the school they got what they needed to come back in full swing to Stiles Field.
In the 2008 season the women Panther's came out of season with a disappointing 3-7 record. This was done with the whole starting line-up made up of freshman and their opponents made of entirely seniors.
But in 2009 they were ready to show everyone what they were made of. They joined a new conference, The Northeast-10, and they made a huge impact. They finished the season with a winning season of 12-8 and made an apperance in the first round of play-offs.
With training for the 2010 season already happening the girls are ready to go again and plan on going even farther and show everyone who doubted them what they are really made of.
