CSC 233
Graphical User Interface Programming

Spring, 2005

A schedule of lectures tells what I plan to talk about, and what I expect you to have read, by each class meeting.

This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15-1:30 PM in Hagedorn 110. Here's the syllabus.

The main textbook for the semester will be About Face 2.0, by Alan Cooper and Robert Reimann, published by J. Wiley, ISBN 0764526413. This book covers only design issues, not implementation, so to learn how to make these design ideas actually work in Java code, we'll use a number of on-line tutorials written by the people at Sun Microsystems.

Tutors

Since this is a new course, we don't have anybody who's taken it before and can help with the GUI stuff. But for those of you with little or no Java experience, talk to Andrew Frisch, who has office hours 11:00 AM-1:00 PM MW in the Learning Center and 12:15-2:15 PM TTh in the Alumnæ 114 computer lab.
