Answer each of the 2 questions below in its own GeoGebra file:
[3 pts.] 1. [Use the filename hw13-question1-LastName.ggb, where LastName is replaced by your last name.]
Examine the function f(x) = a|x + b| + c on GeoGebra:
a) Define a = 1, b = 0, and c = 0.
b) Define f(x).
c) Examine the effect of each parameter.
d) In the next to last toolbox (Slider), choose the option for text. Type a sentence describing the effect of each of the three parameters on the graph.
[3 pts.] 2a. [Use the filename hw13-question2-LastName.ggb, where LastName is replaced by your last name.]
Examine the function f(x) = 2x3 - 6x2 + 4x on GeoGebra:
a) Find f(3).
b) Find the roots of f.
c) Find the extrema of f.
d) Find the inflection point of f.
[ 1 pt.] 2b. [Use the filename hw13-question2-LastName.doc, where LastName is replaced by your last name.]
Export an image of your GeoGebra window. Then, paste it into a Microsoft Word file.
[3 pts.] 3. [Use the filename hw13-question3-LastName.ggb, where LastName is replaced by your last name.]
Go into the CAS View on GeoGebra Classic. Enter the equation 6x - 5 = 4x + 3. Then, use a series of inverse operations (as in Section 10.2), one per input row, to show how to solve this equation for x.
