Assigned Mon Nov 11, due Mon Nov 18

Answer the following questions about the TI-84 calculator in full sentences in a single Microsoft Word file named hw7-LastName.doc (where LastName is replaced by your last name):

[ 1 pt. ] 1. Describe how to solve the system {2x + 5y = 17, 3x + 2y = 9} on the TI-84. State the solution.
[ 1 pt. ] 2. Describe how to solve #12 from the January 2019 Algebra 1 Regents using Regression on the TI-84.
[ 1 pt. ] 3. Use the TI-84 to answer #1 from the January 2019 Algebra 1 Regents. Explain how you found your answer.
[ 1 pt. ] 4. Use the TI-84 to find the equation of the parabola that passes through the points (1,8), (4,-1), and (5,0). Explain how you found your answer.
[2 pts.] 5. Fifteen high school students complete a preparation program for taking the SAT test. Here are the SAT scores from the 15 students who completed the SAT prep program: 434 694 457 534 720 400 484 478 610 641 425 636 454 514 370. Use the TI-84 to conduct a ZTest to determine if it can be shown that μ > 500 with α = .05. Assume it is known that σ = 100. Explain what prints out on the TI-84 when ZTest is run.
[ 1 pt. ] 6. Use the TI-84 to find f'(2) for f(x)=x3. Explain how to find your answer.
[ 1 pt. ] 7. Use the TI-84 to find the definite integral of e-x2 on the interval [1,3]. Explain how you found your answer.
[2 pts.] 8. For the sequence an = 33-n:
a) Find the first 5 terms of the sequence on the TI-84 using 2nd->STAT->OPS->5: seq. Explain how to graph this sequence of 5 terms on the TI-84..
b) Find the first 5 partial sums for the series {an} on the TI-84 using 2nd->STAT->MATH->5: sum. Graph these partial sums on the TI-84 & explain how you can use this graph to make a conjecture about whether the series may converge or not.
