Have fun with latex!
Here are
some basic steps to follow to get started .
First, download TeX Installer below and run it. Follow
the instructions and you should have TeX installed. I suggest
letting the installer do what it wants to do and put things
where it thinks they should be. Now you are ready to make your
own beautiful mathematics with latex. Use the Tikz manual and
the not so short intro manual as you need them. Also, I can
answer most of your questions too.

to use, online, collaborative LaTeX editor)

You'll need to download
amsplain.bst
bibliography.bib
Save the Bibtex file and the AMS
style file in the same folder as papertemplate.tex. You'll
need the file bibliography.bib and amsplain.bst in order for
the references to work right on the papertemplate.tex file.
First run the PDFLaTeX command, then the BiBTeX command,
then the PDFLaTeX command twice more, then finally view the
.pdf file and check if the references are listed correctly.
