Computer memory (also known as RAM, or Random Access Memory), has always been more expensive than external storage, whether it's floppy disks, hard disks, or otherwise. In the 1960s, IBM developed the idea of using part of a computer's disk drive as an extension of memory and this allowed computer's to act as if they have more memory than they really do.
We are going to see how much virtual memory out machine has. To do this:

Ideally, (according to Microsoft), this should be 1.5 times the size of your actual memory. Go back to the General Tab and you should see the actual amount of memory that you have. Is this 2/3 the size of your virtual memory file?
