The New Hyde Park Fire Department consists of five companies and three houses. The three engine companies are Enterprise, Protection, and Estates. There is also Hook & Ladder which has an aerial ladder truck. Moreover, there is the Rescue company which consists of two ambulances, heavy recue truck, and a paid medic SUV. The NHPFD is a completely volunteer fire department. Although this excludes the paid medics. We also have the fastest response time on Long Island.
