Arguments for my position

The sheer amount of information available through social media is leading to "information overload" which in turns causes "social media fatigue" (Bright 1).
The fear of being left out of social interaction causes people to overuse social media, and this "compulsive media use significantly triggered social media fatigue, which later resulted in elevated anxiety and depression" (Chen 1).
As this has continued, the number of people actively partaking in social media has begun to dramatically decrease, with one website in China known as Renren decreasing from 170 million monthly log ins to a mere 31 million in 2018 (Mou 1).
