Portraiture

Portraiture is the title of my concentration.  Throughout my studies, it occurred to me that I capture many portraits.  I decided to focus on people because of their different expressions and personalities.

The dictionary defines portrayal as a person's appearance and character.  This is what I strived to capture in my concentration.  In each portrait, I took into consideration the placement of the figure to highlight the feeling I was trying to capture.  I realize that the rule of thirds and symmetry are clear; each picture was carefully cropped to emphasize the mood of the specific piece.  Other methods I used were center placement, spot color, and repetition.
