Chapter

Description

Preface

  • Describe expected reader
Version History (empty at this point perhaps)

Table of Contents

·         Table of contents is not required but is always a nice addition.

System Description

  • Give a brief overview of the system release being tested. You can copy this from a prior document, but make sure it stays simple as it is not the focus of this document.

Test Environment

  • Mention where all information is held. Mention what devices will be used for testing. Mention where data will be checked.

Test case

  • You need at least 4 significant test cases that test through a majority of your system. It does not have to be exhaustive though as it is just the start of a test plan
  • Each case:
    • Test case id - assign one
    • Test objective- what situation you are testing and what you are trying to prove
    • Precondition - what does the data look like before you start and what data do you need available when you test
    • Steps - what will you do to execute the test
    • Expected result -what will the user see and what will the tester check to verify the result. What will the data look like when the test is complete
  • Fantastic resource if this is unclear:
