You prefer lines to go down. Always start with start and end with end. When you loop back up, just draw the arrow back up to the re-entry point and label the loop condition on the line.

Use when you have 2 or 3 choices. One arrow in from the top and 2 or 3 out from the side and bottom with the choices labelled. Put a question inside

Read from scanner

Process data by changing it or creating it. Use one for a statement or sometimes for a small group of statements

Print to the terminal or graphics window

 

 

Start

End (really the same shape as start)

Method

Put at the bottom of a chart that runs off the bottom of the page and at the top of the next page. Use the same number in both shapes to connect them.
