Overview: Create a document with a table of contents and 3 pictures, one of which was changed by irfanview.

Steps:

1. Download 3 pictures from the internet: Go type www.google.com and click on images. Right click on an image and choose either "save image as" or "save picture as". Change the Save in folder name to csc170home.

2. Change one of those pictures with irfanview. Open irfanview. File / open and look in csc170home. Click on one of your pictures. Change it to a button with image / effects / 3D button. Save it (as any type).

3. Create your document: Open Word and type the following (without the bullets):

MY Extra Credit Word Report
(your name)
TABLE OF CONTENTS
PICTURE 1
PICTURE 2
PICTURE 3

4. Insert the pictures: Insert your first picture after picture 1 (using insert / picture / from file and choose your picture in csc170home). Repeat for the next 2 pictures.

5. Mark the table of contents entries: Highlight "picture 1" and mark it as heading 2 or choose format / paragraph and change the outline level to 2. Repeat for pictures 2 & 3.

6. Create the table of contents: put your cursor under "table of contents" and insert / table of contents OR insert / reference / table of contents (depending upon your version of word).

7. Save it.

8. Print it out to hand into me in class.
