Making your background nicer
You can make your background nicer by lightening it, changing the size,
or cropping it. It is best to have a background that looks good when
repeated, because you never know the window size that will view your
site. Also, it is best to have a light background that does not draw
the readers eye away from the words. It is even better if the
background can add to the site's meaning. You may also want to look for

Steps:
1. Open Irfanview (file / open and double click the file)
2. Make the changes you want:
a. To Lighten a picture:
- Choose image / enhance colors.
- Slide the brightness bar almost all the way to the right.
- Slide the contrast bar around untl you like it.
- Choose OK
b. To Change the size:
- Choose image / resize/resample
- Be sure "preserve aspect ratio" is checked
- You can click the units radio button for "inches"
- Change the width and/or height
- (You can also just click on the standard dimensions instead.)
- Choose OK
c. To crop (cut out all but one box of)
the picture:
- Left click and hold/drag the mouse to make a rectangle that you
want to still see
- Choose edit / crop selection.
3. File / Save (or if you want a new filename, choose save as)
- Be sure the type is jpg or gif
- You might need to ensure you are still in the same folder.
- It might ask you whether you want to replace (and you do).
4. Close mozilla composer if it is open.
5. Reopen mozilla composer and look at your new background (format /
page background)
