Instructions for moving your webcard from being your home page to being a link from your home page

These instructions will help you when your web card is your home page and you want to change your web card to be a link from your home page instead. You start out with this file (at least) in public_html:

• index.html — and it contains your web card

You want to have these files (at least) in public_html when you are done:

• index.html — and it contains your new home page with whatever you want on it PLUS a link to your web card
• webcard.html - and it contains your web card

OR Follow the written steps:

1. Open windows explorer or finder and rename index.html to webcard.html
   • right click on index.html and choose rename, and then name the file webcard.html.
2. Open Seamonkey and then choose window / composer and then file / new and then file / save and type the title as index.
   • When it shows the window to save, make sure you save in the same folder that holds the rest of your website, and name the file index.
   • Type whatever you want on the web page and include the words "see my webcard".
   • Highlight "see my webcard" and then choose insert / link and then click choose file and double click your webcard.

3. Upload to panther by dragging both index and webcard from left (local) to right (remote).

If you are working on a new computer:

1. Create a new folder on your desktop
2. Open Filezilla, connect to panther, and drag your website files to your local pc because you will do all the work on your local computer:
   • Double click on your new web holding folder on the left (local) side of your computer.
   • Transfer your entire website from panther to your local computer by dragging your files from right (panther) to left (your pc).
