CSC 170 - Introduction to Computers and Their Applications

Finding An Article Using The Library's Online Database

We have learned how to cite our work, how to evaluate the validity of an information resource and now we have learned how to find books and articles using the Library's online resources.

Use one of the Library's online databases to find an article on any social networking or information technology ethics topic. (hint: search using "social networking" in quotes.) Take an article from any source inside a database and write a one paragraph summary, and include a proper MLA citation for the article. Include the database name.

Also include an in-text citation for facts a reader want to verify from the article. One in-text citation is required.

While you can use Alicat to access the database, it must be an article from a research database, not an e-book.

Upload to Moodle in section 3 "online database exercise - find article" exercise.
