INSTRUCTIONS ON USING WINDOWS TOOLS TO CHECK AND DEFRAGMENT DISK

Do this when you don't need to use your computer, as you should not be using it during this operation:

First, see whether Scan Disk or Check Disk are available in Start /Programs / Accessories / System Tools. If so, use it there, and then use the Disk Defragmenter from the same place. If not, then try:

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Right click on the C drive
3. Choose Properties
4. Click the Tools tab
5. Hit the "Check Now" button
6. Expect to wait a very long time. (hours)
7. Hit the "Defrag" button.
8. Wait a long time again.
