Volunteer To Be In A Study

Are you learning Arabic this semester?

Would you like to be in a brain study?

We have a new lab in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Adelphi University. We carry out research on brain functioning related to aspects of Arabic language learning. We measure the brain’s electrical activity, using small electrodes which rest on the scalp (this is called ‘electroencephalography’, or EEG, and is a very safe, non-invasive technique). Pictures like those above are ‘maps’ of changing electrical currents, and can tell us a lot about the sequence and location of brain activity.

We are looking for volunteers to take part in our longitudinal research. We need English speaking adults over 18, who are registered to learn Arabic in the university, in good physical health, with good hearing and vision (glasses okay, but not contacts).

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED OR HAVE QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT US.
