Arguments for my position:
Argument #1:
Building neuromorphic chips would create machines as intelligent
as humans the most superior and intelligent species in the
universe.
-
Copying the complexities of the human brain, which is a
neuro-inspired computer itself, would mimic the way neurons and
synapses communicate leading to them developing memory(Nayef
Al-Rodhan, 2009).
- Making Robots look like
humans and with them being just as intelligent, humans can
possibly develop emotional affinity towards them. Also humans can
become co-dependent or even over attached (Patrick Lin, 2016).
Argument #3: Giving robots human intelligence could eventually
lead them to be more intelligent and take over the work of humans.
- Facebook shut down
an experiment of two robots they created, who were talking to each
other in a language only they understood and was incomprehensible
to humans (Andrew Griffin, 2017).
- It is no secret that
in the future most operations will be done by robots. With many "
different vision techniques, such as photogrammetry, stereo
vision, structured light, time of flight, and laser triangulation
(Perez, 2016)" robots will be extremely precise and will be able
to perform many of the tasks that humans do much quicker and more
efficiently (Luis Perez, Inigo Rodriguez, Nuria Rodriguez, Ruben
Usamentiaga, Daniel Garcia, 2016)
