What are encrypted frequencies?

· Encrypted frequencies are used by many federal agencies in order to deter people from scanning them.

· They use a special type of encryption technology that makes scanners unable to follow them.

· Out of all of the previous radio systems, encryption is the most secure.

· It is also the radio systems of which I have the least amount of background. It is currently being used by the Nassau County Police Department, after they switched from a UHF repeated frequency system.
