In the 5th season, Lucas has published his first novel with the help of editor/girlfriend Lindsey and is in the process of writing a second one.
He is now coaching the Tree Hill High basketball team with the help of Skills.
Lucas is godfather to Haley and Nathan's son, Jamie.
Throughout the season, Lucas will be forced to confront his feelings for his current girlfriend, Lindsey, and his old love, Peyton.
