In the February Smithsonian interview, Sal points out that Rich helped construct the sleds,
but we don't know which or how much. I do recall Rich talking about helping restore
one of Sal's work for a show...the coffee grounds used for staining had not held up
--an interesting detail, reflecting I suspect the spirit of the times. From Matrix Catalog. I think
it might well have been Sal's Starleara sled (1977) ('oil, resin, coffee, wood, canvas') or
a much earlier one (torn work?)
