"Aasahel Sanford Parmelee did indeed go from Cazenovia, NY to Medina county, Ohio, in 1834 where he built a saw and grist mill. he can be found there in the 1850, 70 and 80 censuses. and he was also the postmaster of Liverpool (now Valley City).
I have Fanny's last name as Bates. {whereas the Pioneering Women site says "Fanny Fields" from Eaton Ohio --there is an Eaton just NW of Valley City} Her father Solomon originally from Sayville, Ashtabula Co., buried in Bates Cemetery there w. wife & dau, both named Susan.
William Hemmingway Parmelee and Edmund Parmelee were A.S.'s younger brothers, who also moved to Medina county. Edmund later moved to Lansing, Mich. {So did James S (Susan's brother in ____}
Sanford D is a very, very distant relative. he's from Joshua's branch of the family while the rest of these parmelee's are descended from Joel. Sanford D.'s father was Herman Milford Parmelee. [I found Sanford D via google & in census-Russel NY, a sargent, killed Civil War in VA- see the Edwards, NY Histiory & Genealogy Center, online]
As you move back up the line, Charles Parmelee was a private in the Revolutionary War -- you can find out more about his served on my revolutionary war page.
And Deacon Joel's tombstone, the oldest in the family that survives, can be found on the website too. deacon joel's tombstone
I've sent along a family group sheet and the line on back to the early parmelees. hope this is of some help to you."
