  1941-2003

Vacation photo - *Kendra with Sue,* her grandma,1998 (Kendra was 5)
Very happy - *family, in Nonquit* (Hadley's the younger one).
Adelphi picture: *Sally (faculty photo)* Spring, 1998 (my hair is back)
).
Way back when: *Louise and twinlets* (1941))
See, even then, we did NOT look that much alike!
And each year, we got to celebrate Groundhog's Day! -which is esp. neat when you're a kid. Here's an example: Ms. Groundhog at work (from web card site). More appropriate for me than for Sue, who definitely wasn't into computers. Note: James Joyce was a groundhogger, but of course, we never read anyone like him in HS.
Old photo: *parents, on vacation,* w our 1940s Mercury(?) in background

These are the pictures I put up for Sue and Dave early summer, 2003.

my grandniece Kendra (in 1994)
Caroline, was the newest baby (when I began this family page, but now there's the twins, too.
And Kali, Dave's new dog (reminds them of Hope, I'm sure)
Black dog, white tie Great photo! sent to cheer me up and to remember Susie - Becca and many others were quite wonderful during Sue's illness and afterwards.
Favorite waterview (just what every Golden wants, right, Ginny?!)
And in the field - Sally, hunt test judging Manorville, LI, with two of the qualifiers and their Goldens (Spring, 2003).
Last night aboard ship: Rich and I loved Alaska! end of August, 1998
Windy day on the Sound Richie, Golly, Ginny Winter, 1999
Manhattan celebration: 60th birthday (2001)

More family pictures:
*my cousin Walt* (Philadelphia, 1999)
*fun at the Flower Show* (1999)
*walt & family* (Colgate May 2002)

Another happy picture: *just before the hurricane* (in Cancun)
Surburban life: *she too likes gardens* (outside Boston)
And especially: *the Corgis* (great portrait of Riley, Sar)

The Goldstock Candle Ceremony:
The ceremony took place Sunday, August 31, 2003 at 9 PM at Camp Weequahic Lakewood, PA 18439, where hundreds good folks remembered our Golden Golly and also, my sister, Sue, along with many others lost this year. The gathering takes place each year and raises thousands of dollars for Golden rescue work, which I know would please Susie especially.

Candle 3:
We light this candle for all the pets of those not able to gather with us at Goldstock, including Sunfire's Golly G's a Whiz CD, JH, WCX. Much loved by Sally, Rich & "Ginny", "Golly" went to Rainbow Bridge, Saturday, January 25, 2003 after 14+ years of loving "banana time", beaches, birds and fuzzies!
Candle 6:
We light this candle to remember all our human family and friends that have died this past year, including Susan Hobson Reid, remembered and greatly missed by her twin sister, Sally. Sue died on August 21, 2003, after a brave but short battle with lung cancer. Thankfully, there was time for all of us to be with her, especially Dave, who is recovering from a long illness.
