Part I.

Major companies develop a mission statement to keep members and users aware of the organizations purpose and uphold the interests of shareholders. Some companies use the mission statement as an advertisement slogan or a catch phrase. A fortune 500 company is one of the top 500 businesses in the United States. Number 17 on the list is Home Depot. Their mission statement is, The Home Depot is in the home improvement business and our goal is to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products and the most competitive prices.

The Home Depot provides products and services for all your home improvements. They focus on 8 core values to assure the satisfaction of every customer. When they say excellent customer service you can walk in and an employee will ask you if you need help with anything right away. They take care of their people by Your Total Value which is a combination of benefits and compensation programs. Those benefits include medical, health savings account, spending accounts, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance. They give back by providing scholarships to students who can not afford college. They do the right thing by providing stable working conditions for all their employees. They show respect to everyone, whether it’s their customers, employees, and other people who do business with them. They have a great entrepreneurial spirit that’s led them to be the top number 17 business in the country. Home Depot builds strong relationships with everyone they deal with which is why they are very successful.

Part II

I have my own mission statement which will help me reach my goals and achievements. My own mission statement is I will live life to the fullest.

My purpose in life is to do well in school by achieving the best possible grades, marry a woman who I will love with all of my heart, maintain a solid job that will support my family for as long as they’re with me, have children and teach them wrong from right, and watch my children grow to be as successful as possible, and if I am fortunate enough, I would love to see my own kids have children.

I want to live my life as a good Christian who appreciates everything. I want to make my parents proud by what they have taught me and use it to help me achieve true happiness. My life should be all about passion. With passion I can reach all of my goals by commitment and dedication.

I have to maintain a balance by doing well in school while and having a good time to accomplish my mission. My schoolwork must be done the best possible way so I can receive excellent grades. I must study until I have complete knowledge of the subjects and hand in all homework assignments on time. Apart from school, I must keep close with the people I care about it no matter what the circumstance is. I must also be well rounded and gain as much experience as possible so I can honestly know what I want to become after school. In the future I need to achieve my bachelor’s degree in business and complete graduate school with a M.B.A. I also have to be myself. I will not modify my behavior or personal traits because it is necessary to make mistakes so that I can learn from them. However, I will always act professional in all aspects so that I can be taken seriously when needed. This mission statement will always remind me of who I am, where I’m from, and where I’m going.
