The issue is: Cyberbullying has always been an issue throughout children and teens and is still an ongoing issue today.
My position is: As a result of online activity with social media, teens are more inclined to having mental disorders and depression. Parents and schools should be more involved with fighting against cyberbullying.
Arguments for my position
- Most cyber bullying incidents happens when students are off
campus and have more unsupervised time (Billitteri, 401).
- Cyber bullying in adolescent age can lead to mental illnesses and psychological problems ("Pros and Cons").
- If the school does not take control over what happens online, it can lead to other issues if cyber bullying isn't dealt with ("Pros and Cons").
- 81% of youths say it is easier to get away with bullying online than it is in person ("Pros and Cons").
- Personal factors can affect behavior, it says kids from age 11- 16 have no effect. Students over ages 15 tend to be aggressors rather than ages 10-14 (Lampert and Donoso142).
- Bullying is a form of peer aggression and might be learned through others actions ("Cyberbulling among high").
