Paintball is a team sport played with
guns loaded with small balls filled paint which explode on
impact. The way the game is played largley depends on what type
of game is being played.
What type of games are there?
The most popular types are
elimination, capture the flag, king of the hill and hostage/VIP.
Elimination involves eliminating the opposing team before your team is
eliminated. Capture the flag involves taking a flag from an enemy
position and escorting it back to your own safe zone before the
opposing team does it first. The objective of king of the hill is
to defend a designated and fortified area (your hill) from a constant
onslaught of the opposing team until time runs out or your team is
eliminated. Hostage/VIP basically is either rescuing and
escorting a designated team member from an enemy zone for the hostage
scenario or for the VIP scenario escorting a designated team member
through an opposing teams territory to a safe zone unharmed.
Do paintballs hurt?
It depends on alot of variables.
Ball velocity, outside temperature, distance from where the shot was
fired, and how much clothing your wearing all come into account.
Do you have to have a team to play?
Of course not! While having your
own full team means you can get a game anytime its not needed!
Most any park you go to will allow just you or you and a few friends to
be paired up with other people into one large pick up game.
